White combustible crystalline powder with formaldehyde odor. It dissolves slowly in cold water, and dissolves faster in hot water. The solubility in water at 20°C is 0.24g/100cm3H2O. Insoluble in ethanol and ether. Soluble in caustic soda and potassium solution.
